We serve the Lord Jesus Christ as missionaries with PMM through ministries dealing with literacy, basic education, and community development. Our principal objective is evangelism while also providing opportunity for the people to learn to read and write. We teach the Bible to them in the process.
By training and supervising volunteer teachers, either in urban or rural areas, we enable the churches to carry out social projects in their communities.
We also provide personal counselling, training and recreational activities for pastors, leaders and their wives.
A common thread woven through each ministry is the teaching nutrition and hygiene during accompanying workshops.
We have three children: Johanna, Daniel & Alejandro and two grand-children. We live in Quito-Ecuador.
Atucucho is a district of the Quito City in Ecuador in South Amercia, became an easy target for the rains and several houses were affected by the avalanche and mud.
Evangelizing through Education? It Happens in Ecuador
Some of the poorest people on the planet are found in Latin America. And, Ecuador has more than its share. Now the concept “poor” is relative. A poor person in Ecuador would be considered a hair above middle class if he or she had an income level equivalent to what is considered the poverty level in the US.
A lack of funding by the government has resulted in the closing of many rural public schools in Ecuador. While cutting governmental costs is usually appreciated by citizens most of the time, this action has left poorer families in much despair. They know that without an education, their children will remain illiterate and live in poverty all their lives.
